In my late twenties early thirty’s I went to Chelsea Art College. BA (hons), Initially on my foundation I was interested in mixed media and textiles which lead me to stained glass and mosaics at Chelsea. I also became involved in conceptual art and did very little drawing at college. I left disappointed and realised I really wanted to paint. I have grafted skills from classes ever since and am primarily self taught. I attended life drawing classes at the Royal College of Art. Alongside these classes and working in an Art Gallery I began Jax Art Studio. There I held art classes for adults and children. I brought in tutors to specialise in different mediums while enjoying the whole creative environment I had created. On moving from London to Sussex to bring up my family I continued teaching children’s workshops The lockdowns made me focus on my work as a painter. I paint in the studio and when I can I paint Plein Aire in my favourite Cornish coastal spots. I love to work from the live model in the company of other artists. I work intuitively and am growing and changing as an artist as I explore and react to my surroundings and the beauty of the human form and life.
